Fees FAQ

Social Team Fees

The questions and answers below relate to the social (or lower grade) teams. For information about these teams, see Women's Social Teams, Men's Social Teams and Men's Over 35s.

How Much Are The Fees

The fees vary from year to year. Here are the fees for Season 2006.

What Membership Fees Do I Have To Pay

SU Sport Membership Fees

To play for our club you must join SydneyUniversitySport and SUSFC. For convenience, we handle your membership of SU Sport and SUSFC simultaneously. That is, we collect forms and fees for both.

SUSFC Association Fee

The Association Fee covers the cost of registering our club and your team, as well as registering and insuring you as a player in the association (or league) you will play in. This fee varies according to the association.

SUSFC Club Fee

The SUSFC Club Fee is the same for all players. It consists of a squad fee and a set of subsidies. The squad fee covers the cost of your coach, your manager's expenses and any equipment required by your squad (eg. training balls, match balls, first aid kit, etc.).

Each player gets discounted or free entry into some of our fundraising and social events. The subsidies typically include tickets in our Guessing Competition, free entry into our 6-A-Side tournament, discounted tickets to our Annual Dinner and Awards Night, and free entry to all our Super League home games.

How Are My Fees Calculated

The SU Sport Membership Fees are set down by SydneyUniversitySport. They have several membership types and corresponding fees. Read about SUSportMembershipTypes to determine what membership is appropriate to you to determine the fee you will have to pay.

The SUSFC fees aim to make each squad self-funding as far as getting each team on the field. Social events and other costs are born by our club. The SUSFC Association Fee is based on the fees set down by the association your team will play in. The SUSFC Club Fee again simply covers costs. The squad component covers non-association costs for your squad. The subsidies component helps our club raise funds and build club spirit by subsidising your participation in our fundraising and social events.

Who Is Eligible For The Student Rate

Only Sydney University under-graduates are eligible for the student rate. Students from other institutions are not eligible. Nor are post-graduates from Sydney University (or any other institution). The rationale is to give Sydney University under-graduates a slightly cheaper fee and some advantage over students from elsewhere.

When Do I Have To Pay My Fees

No player can play for our club until all fees have been paid in full. Therefore all fees must be paid before the start of the season. Typically fees will be paid at or before the WelcomeBBQ.

How Do I Pay For Fees

Fees can be paid in cash or with a personal cheque made out to SUSFC. Credit Card payments cannot be accepted at this time. EFTs can be arranged if required.

Is There A Bond

Prior to Season 2005, we did indeed have a PlayerBond. However, since Season 2005 we have replaced this with the subsidies component of the SUSFC Club Fee (see above).
