Tournament Rules

Playing Rules

Standard FIFA rules, except that there are no off-sides and unlimited subsititutions. Teams can have a maximum of ten (10) players, of which at most six (6) can be on the field at any time. Games are quite short, typically 20 minutes (ie. 2x10 minute halves).

Bonus Goals

Each team gets a one goal bonus per game, per female presence on field for an entire game, up to a maximum of 3 goals per game. Note female players can be substituted at any time. To get the one-goal bonus a team must maintain one female presence on field for the entire game, whether that be the same player or not.

Tournament Format

Each team will be grouped with several other teams. They will play each other, in round-robin style. The top teams at the end of the round-robin will play in a knockout finals series.

Who Can Play

The tournament is open to everyone.

Entry Fee

The entry fee is $5 per player.

All SUSFC members have already paid this entry fee as part of their membership fees.

Background

Gyorgy (pronounced Yuri) Markus was seriously injured while playing for SUSFC in the late 1980s. Each year since then, SUSFC has held a charity 6-A-Side tournament with proceeds going to Gyorgy.
