Highlights Video

The Highlights Video

Overview

Each year, SUSFC produces a highlights video. It contains highlights from the season, mainly from competitive matches, but also from social events and so on. The highlights are chosen to give coverage to all teams and to moments of a humorous or skilful nature. The video debuts at our AnnualDinner and copies are available after that.

Production

Matches and other events are typically filmed using handheld cameras. Highlights are then selected, edited using computers, put to music and made available in VHS or DVD formats.

Who Tapes The Footage

Ideally one (or more) members of each team. Take it in turns to spread the workload.

What Sort Of Footage Should We Tape

Primarily your matches, but also background like warm-ups, social events, coaches, etc. Aim to tape as much as possible as you never know what might turn out to be good footage.

What Sort Camera Should Be Used

A standard hand-held, digital camera is all that is required.

Where Do We Get A Camera

Typically someone from each team will own (or have access to) a digital hand-held camera. If not, the loan of one can be arranged.

What Do We Do With The Footage

Review it and list all the highlights and their time-codes (ie. when they occur on the tape) in this spreadsheet (which contains instructions). Submit your tape, your highlights spreadsheet and your team details to your manager or directly to our administrator.

Please ensure you submit the raw tape and not any processed form of footage (eg. MPG or other PC format). This will ensure the best quality of highlights.
