| Semi-Finals Galore this weekend | Whole Club |
The regular season is now over (well, for almost everybody) and this weekend sees no less than five Uni teams in semi-final action, with two further teams having this week off before beginning their semis next weekend.
Saturday sees what is perhaps the most important day in the history of women's football at Sydney Uni as both First Grade and Under 21s Super League teams play in semi-finals. Having both topped the bottom half of the competition, they enter the final series as the 5th placed team.
The U21s play Manly United FC at 1.30 and First Grade play the Central Coast Lightning at 4.00pm. Both games are at Central Coast's home ground of Pluim Park.
Sunday sees ESSFA Men's semi-final action begin with all matches sudden death. The AA1s finished fourth this season and so become the first Uni AA1s team to make the finals in ESSFA. It a is credit to the great job done by Michael and Dave in molding what has been largely a new team into a slick and successful outfit. They will face first placed Barnstoneworth at Heffron 8 at 1.30pm.
Third grade sees a Uni take on the arch-enemy UNSW at 9.30am at Jellicoe. The early start might be their biggest enemy though as all season they have struggled to get 11 players to kick-off. However, the players they have been getting there must be pretty handy as they still finsihed second on the table.
The AA4s play Dunbar at 12.00 at Queen's Park, so hopefully Rocky and all the boys aren't still feeling the effects of tonight's golfing exploits. They also go in as second on the table, a great effort considering they were promoted from 5th grade last year.
The Men's AA8s have the week off for no apparent reason. They finished top of the table but have been asked to wait a week before playing their semis. Well done on winning Uni's only ESSFA Premiership this year.
Also with the week off are the Men's Super League Under 20s team. As Premiers, they get the week off while other teams battle for the right to meet them in next week's major semi.
But not quite everybody has finished their regular season. Men's AA5s and AA6s both have their last regular season games on Sunday, and although they are out of semi-final contention, the games are far from meaningless. A draw by both teams will mean that Uni will finish the season ahead of Kenso Tech in EVERY grade that we contest. Now that would be nice, wouldn't it?

The AA4's battled it out and after 120min still no goals. Wrapped it up in the penalty shoot out, after sending 10 players up to the spot.
