Girls make the finals

Saturday night saw the conclusion of the SNSW Premier Futsal League regular season. It was a tough end to the season for Uni, with a long trip to Liverpool to take on the Fusion.

The afternoon saw Uni come away with only the solitary draw in the Men's game. All other teams lost to the club that is dominating the Thunder Conference (second division).

So after a tough first season in the competition, Uni find themselves with both junior girls teams through to the finals. The Under 16 Girls finished third on the table, equal on points with Greater Western Sydney and trailing them only on goal difference. The Under 13 Girls finished second, and have been one of the strongest teams all season.

Great credit must go to Jim Patikas, coach of the Girls U13 team, and Jim Zammit for getting such strong performances out of the girls. This also bodes well for the upcoming outdoor season, with many of these girls part of the Super League junior squads.
