Shaun Herat played in last year's grand final winning AA3bs and was also a member of the State League squad in the late 90s, winning the 'Best Fresher of the Year' award in 1996.
What's that got to do with old football gear?
Well, Shaun's uncle is doing missionary work in war-torn areas of northern Sri Lanka. His plan is to get hold of some football gear (jerseys, boots, shin pads, etc) to give to the people in the area to help improve their lot in life. Certainly sounds like a good cause to me.
So how can you help?
If you have any old football stuff (and I'm sure we all do) then you can drop it off in my office at the Arena Sports Centre or bring it to registration night at the Nags (Wed 21/2). You might even be able to meet Shaun himself when he comes to pick up the stuff.
So dig deep in your wardrobe and see what you can find.
