Women's Super League begins tomorrow

The Women's Super League season begins tomorrow, and Uni face a tough first up trip to Bathurst to face the Western NSW Panthers (I think last year they were just Bathurst). It is the first of three tough away games for the girls, who have to travel to St George then Nowra in the opening three rounds.

Mick Somers and Robert Podolinsky have had the senior girls all training hard through a tough pre-season, and have had some positive results in trials.

Jim Patikas is back again in 2007 to coach the U14 girls and Paul Vlachos will coach the U16s. We also would like to welcome on board two Brazilians, Marcos da Silva and Conrado Cortez. As well as being members of the Men's Super League squad, they will also be coaching the U12 girls. So expect to see some Brazilian flair amongst the juniors this year.

And I would also like to welcome our new technical director, Vicki Linton. She will be around during the season to fine tune the girls' skills as well as running elite training camps.

So we all wish the girls luck tomorrow, and hope they can return from Bathurst with plenty of points in tow.
